Amed’s attraction is its peace and quiet, the cliff top views of the glorious coastline and black-sand beaches, as well as the stunning underwater seascape.
Amed refers to a long stretch of coast running from the village of Culik about 14 km eastwards incorporating the seven villages of Amed, Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah, Selang, Banyuning and Aas. The pace of life here is slow and the coastal scenery quite stunning making Amed the perfect place for a relaxed holiday in Bali. If you're looking to get away from crowds, this is the place to come and try some yoga. Amed is also known for excellent diving and snorkeling. Tulamben is a small fishing village with one of the best know dive sites on Bali. The wreck of the US cargo ship Liberty sunk over 60 years ago, and this has given rise to an entire town based on scuba diving. Even snorkelers can easily swim out and enjoy the wreck and the coral. For non-aquatic delights, check out the morning market in Tulamben village, 1.5km north of the dive site.
